The 2012 Tony Award Winner for Best Play on Broadway!
Clybourne Park, written by Bruce Norris, explodes in two
outrageous acts set 50 years apart. Act One takes place in 1959, as nervous
community leaders anxiously try to stop the sale of a home to a black family.
Act Two is set in the same house in the present day, as the now predominantly
African-American neighborhood battles to hold its ground in the face of
gentrification.
This was pure genius! Hilarious and clever! My sister-friend
Deborah and I had the privilege of meeting two of the cast members after the
show, the amazing Ms. Crystal A. Dickinson (www.crystaldickinson.com) and the
remarkable Mr. Brandon J. Dirden (www.brandondirden.com).
It was interesting to see how the tides had turned!
Hurry to get your tickets www.clybournepark.com. This show runs until September 2nd at the Walter Kerr Theatre at 219 West 48th Street.
